Health & safety

We provide our employees a healthy and safe work environment through the adoption of the best health and safety measures.

Health check-ups

We have established well-equipped dispensaries across all our units and organize regular health check-up camps for our employees


We put a lot of emphasis on cleanliness and celebrate an annual cleanliness day on 7th of January across all the group’s business units

National safety day

All our units celebrate 4th of March every year as the safety day through various awareness programmes and contests.

Our HR practices

Empowerment through participation

To facilitate employee participation in all the major decisions of the organization, we have in place various systems and processes designed to draw them out with their suggestions, problems etc. Besides unit wise open house meetings, we have several committees (Works, Safety, Canteen) to address various issues of employee concern. There is also a Think Tank of workmen and officers, selected through a secret ballot system, to hear work-related problems and suggestions.

Keeping them motivated

Motivational excellence is maintained by the company through a plethora of initiatives. These include sports facilities, long service reward, best employee award, recognizing good work and good behaviour, Viswakarma Puja, Children’s Day, World Environment Day celebrations, etc. On-the-spot redressal of employee problems and regular counselling are also an integral part of our people engagement focus. We also provide housing and other amenities to the employees.

Providing training excellence

To ensure the continuous development and growth of our employees, we conduct various programmes on a regular basis. These include in-house training, management development, inter-unit interaction, seminars/external training, external faculty training, shop floor training, safety training, preventive maintenance workshops, among others.

Going a step beyond the HR practices traditionally associated with the sugar industry, which has looked at HR as industrial worker relationships, we have put in place a strong HR framework that is designed to ensure the right person for the right job, with a major thrust on nurturing talent and excellence. Regular assessment of employee’s strengths and weaknesses helps in career planning and job enrichment of every person working for us.
