  A MILESTONE AND A MARVEL

DSIL set up its second sugar plant at Dwarikesh Puram, in the limits of Bahadarpur village, which falls in the Dhampur tehsil of Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district. This is a green-field project with a capacity of 7,500 TCD. The facility is 45 kilometers from our Dwarikesh Nagar plant and is near to the national highway. The project is in line with our company's growth strategy, to become a large integrated sugar conglomerate with interests in synergistic businesses.

Just like Dwarikesh Nagar, this too is a highly fertile and well-irrigated area which is just a few kilometers away from the river Ganga. The strategic vicinity of the unit reduce dependency on monsoons. Dwarikesh enjoys access to large, clearly defined cane-producing areas in the region. It is well-connected with major sugar-consuming markets of the country.

Apart from the state of the art plant, Dwarikesh Puram complex also consists of a residential colony having houses and flats of different kind. It also has a large office complex, storage godown, molasses tanks, recreation centers and a temple. Large green areas have been developed at the site to keep the environment healthy and free of pollution. Effluent plants are in place to treat the industrial waste. Bhoomi poojan and foundation laying ceremony for the plant had taken on February 11, 2005, and its development and commissioning work has been completed in record time. The plant commenced production from 01-01-2006.

The company has increased the power capacity of the plant from 9 Mw to 33 Mw by setting up a 24 Mw co generation plant. The company signed PPA for selling the power to the state electricity. The unit started selling electricity from its 24 Mw co generation plant to the State Government from 4th February 2008. The unit had sold 53.78 million units during the last crushing season 2010-2011 after banking of 8 lacs unit to meet out off season’s requirement

During the last season 2010-2011 , we crushed 5.87 million quintals of sugar cane at the plant at a recovery of 9.47%.

The Dhampur area is known for good sugarcane productivity. Dwarikesh Puram plant will boost DSIL's performance in terms of tonnage crushed as well as help the farmers of the area. The company has a strong reputation for making timely sugarcane payments and for its ethical conduct.
