NEW JEWEL IN THE CROWN
DSIL set up an another state of art sugar plant of 7500 TCD
at Dwarikesh Dham, in Tehsil - Faridpur, District -
Bareilly. The low-lying district consists of plains with
fertile alluvial soil on the banks of the Ramganga river.
The land here is most suitable for agriculture and farmers
in this region are focused on growing cane along with
production of potatoes. The area is well-connected with
major sugar-consuming markets of the country.
The total power plant capacity of Dwarikesh Dham plant is of
36 Mw out of which 24 Mw will be exported to the state
electricity board for which PPA has already been signed.
The
plant has started production on 17.12.2007. It began selling electricity from its 24 Mw co
generation plant to the State Government from 9th February
2008.
During the last crushing season 2008-2009, we crushed 3.01 million quintals of sugar cane
at the plant at a recovery of 8.61%.
Apart from the state of the art plant, Dwarikesh Dham
complex also consists of a residential colony having houses
and flats of different kind. It also has a large office
complex, storage godown, molasses tanks, recreation centres
and a temple. Large green areas have been developed at the
site to keep the environment healthy and free of pollution.
Effluent plants are in place to treat the industrial waste.
