A
FAST GROWING GROUP
Dwarikesh Sugar
Industries Limited, founded by Mr. Gautam R Morarka, is an
integrated conglomerate primarily engaged in the manufacture
of sugar and allied products. From a humble beginning in
1993, when we commissioned our first plant of 2500 TCD in
Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, Dwarikesh is today a
multi-faceted, fast-growing industrial group with a strong
presence in diversified fields such as sugar manufacturing,
power and ethanol/industrial alcohol production.
Our plants, with a combined capacity of 21,500 tons of sugar
per day, are located in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, at
Dwarikesh Nagar (Najibabad), Dwarikesh Puram (Afzalgarh) and
at Dwarikesh Dham, Tehsil Faridpur, District- Bareilly. Our
associated companies and organisations have carved their
distinct identities in fields as diverse as financial
services, information technology and media. The flagship company, Dwarikesh
Sugar Industries Limited, is headquartered at Mumbai.
Dwarikesh has many 'firsts' to its credit. Led by a team
of dynamic professionals the company strives to establish
itself as a market leader in the sugar industry. Dwarikesh's
constant endeavour to go that 'extra mile' to contribute in
making the environment eco-friendly (planting 10,000
environment friendly trees not only in the premises but also
in the surrounding areas) has won it many laurels. The
Company encourages an ethical environment and promotes
transparency in its dealings.
Dwarikesh has been consistently coming up with impressive
figures on all parameters including production, finances and
stock market positions. Our crushing capacity and recovery
rate are growing on a regular basis. Financially, the
company has grown many times since its inception and the
Dwarikesh share is performing exceptionally well in the
stock markets.
DOING
THINGS DIFFERENTLY
The cliché " We can
because we think we can" is embedded very deeply at all
levels at Dwarikesh. A dedicated congregation of
professionals went about the task of setting up a plant with
missionary zeal for manufacture of white crystal sugar. DSIL
first set its imprints in the village of Bundki that lies in
the district of Bijnor, in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Meticulous planning and months of toil went into setting up
the plant until finally, in a record time unparalleled so
far, the plant was ready for commissioning. Distillery with
a capacity of 30 KLPD ( kilo Litres per day) was
commissioned in _the year 2005. Another 7500 TCD sugar plant
of the company, at Bahadarpur (Afzalgarh) was commissioned
within just 10 months.
A state of Art plant having capacity of 7500 TCD Sugar
plant along with 36 Mw Power plant has been commissioned in
village Bhagwanpur Phulwa, Tehsil - Faridpur, District -
Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) in December 2007. The Company has
also expanded its co generation capacity from 9 Mw to 33 Mw
in its second plant called Dwarikesh Puram in December 2007.
Through the course of time, venturing into an industry few
dare to challenge, the DSIL team has reaped rich dividends
by doing things differently and following the adage,
'abandon the familiar, and seek the outrageous'. DSIL too
has had its downs due to cyclic storms that affect the sugar
industry but has weathered them to emerge stronger. DSIL is
now on the threshold of a new era, an era of growth coupled
with consolidation and an era where it proposes to reach
challenging heights.
