IMPORT DUTY ON RAW WHITE SUGAR ABOLISHED

New Delhi: India abolished import duty on raw and refined sugar to meet a shortage in the world's biggest user of the sweetener after domestic prices reached a three-year high. The finance ministry will soon notify the removal of the 60% levy, trade secretary G.K. Pillai said on Monday.
