Dwarikesh plans third sugar plantMUMBAI: Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Limited will set up a sugar plant with a capacity of 7,500 tonnes crushed per day (TCD) in Uttar Pradesh at a cost of 2 billion rupees, the company said on Wednesday. The unit would also have a co-generation power capacity of 36 megawatts, the company said in a statement.The plant, the company's third, would start in the sugar season (October-September) of 2007/08 and increase Dwarikesh's capacity to 21.500 TCD, it said. Ahead of the announcement, Dwarikesh shares closed down 0.9 percent at 227.90 rupees in a firm Mumbai market.
