Trials begin at the new Dwarikesh plantBijnor: Trials for the maiden crushing season have begun at Dwarikesh group's new sugar mill at Bahadarpur (Dhampur-Bijnor) as the company officials conducted inaugural puja at the plant site on December 14, 2004. The puja, attended by all major company officials and distinguished guests of the area apart from the local sugarcane farmers who gathered in large numbers, marks commencement of operations at the second Dwarikesh plant. The plant has become operational exactly at the scheduled time as the company was determined to start manufacturing during the present crushing season itself. Foundation was laid for the plant in February 2005, and its development work has completed within a record period of 10 months.The company officials have started technical trials at the plant following which crushing of sugarcane will begin. The company has asked farmers within its allocated reserve and sugarcane areas to start supplying sugarcane for the mill. It has assured them that as per the company's tradition, the farmers will receive timely payment for their supplies. Company officials have requested sugarcane farmers to approach them directly in case of any problems in supply or transportation of sugarcane to the plant.
The company has also reiterated its commitment to help in the development of Bahadarpur village and its surrounding areas. Dwarikesh group is going to organise a camp for the handicapped of the area in February 2006. An associated charitable trust of the company, Sewajyoti, has been organizing such camps in different parts of the country for the past few years.
